Karla is the proud parent of three bilingual daughters, and understands what it takes to raise bilingual children and teenagers successfully. She was also a bilingual student herself, having faced most of the same challenges that today’s bilingual children and teenagers face when her family was temporarily relocated to the U.S.
Karla went on to pursue her studies in education gaining undergrad degrees in English and pedagogy at the University of Sao Paulo, and master and doctoral degrees in educational psychology, with minors in neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, and linguistics at National-Louis University in Chicago. She has also concluded a neuropsychology specialization at Harvard University.
With over 20 years of experience in the Education field, Karla has trained several hundred parents, teachers, and school administrators in bilingual education.
